Aim

Are you confident you know how and when to use agency staff?

With the current staffing challenges within Primary Care and the need to deliver key front-line services, many practices will use agency staff to fill short and long term gaps. Whilst this may be a solution in the short term, there are a number of pitfalls to be aware of and this workshop will cover most of them.

This workshop will cover all you need to know about using agency staff including:

  • When to use agency temps
  • Selecting an employment agency and terms and conditions of business
  • The importance of determining employment status
  • Avoiding an employment relationship
  • Rights of agency temps in relations to basic employment and working conditions
  • Taking on agency temps as permanent members of staff

Who should attend the workshop

  • Managers, team leads and staff in a supervisory role within primary care
