Aim

Getting employment contracts wrong can be expensive!

As an employer it’s crucial to get the details of contracts and written statements correct.

Failure to do so can result in disputes and potential employment tribunal claims further down the line.

This event will guide you through the whole process, from the formation of a contract to its termination. You will learn about different types of contracts and how to legally vary a contract. You will also gain an understanding of who should receive written statements and what they need to include.

This workshop will cover:

  • The definition of a contract of employment
  • Terms of a contract – including express, implied and incorporated terms
  • Employment status – employee, worker or self-employed?
  • Written statements – what to include and recent legislative changes
  • Termination –reasons for terminating a contract of employment and payments on termination

Who should attend the workshop

  • Managers, team leads and staff in a supervisory role within primary care

All participants will need access to a laptop or PC with camera and sound in a quiet space. Please have your camera on if possible during the training as this makes is more enjoyable for everyone.
