Aim

Delegating in a motivational way

Being able to delegate effectively is a key skill for managers for two reasons. Firstly, delegating allows you to save time and to focus on the tasks that only you can do. Secondly, the delegation of tasks to team members is an opportunity for these team members to learn new skills and develop.  However, we all know that if delegation is not done properly, it can create more problems than it solves.

This short workshop will give you an overview of successful delegation:

  • Definitions
  • The levels of delegation
  • The elements of delegation (authority, accountability, and responsibility)
  • The benefits of and barriers to delegation
  • 7 steps for effective delegation

Who should attend the workshop

  • Managers, team leads and staff in a supervisory role within primary care
